swanny
I have a original Fantic 301 P1 with original front disc brake. Have tried numerous times to bleed the system and though get plenty of air out can never get any pressure at the lever. Does anyone have any a proven method? ty250nl
Do you have the version with the brakefluid reservoir on the bars or the version with the cable operated reservoir behind the headlight. The first version is straightforward bleeding, you could place the caliper in a position that the bleeding nipple is at the highest position of the caliper. That also gives you more space to operate the nipple, The second version can have a worn or old brake cable which needs replacing. Also the piston in the brake reservoir can be worn, resulting in the loss of pressure. You then have to take it all apart and give it a good cleaning (and maybe some new rubbers). But most of the times the piston is sticking in the caliper (a lot of dirt around and old age). Kind regards, Arie.
swanny
Thanks Arie, I have the brake fluid on the bars version. I have fitted new seals in the caliper so will investigate the piston in the brake reservoir. Many Thanks, Neil
