qwerty
Hi, I am returning to trials [Ossa MAR and Grandson on a Beta] we need some new tie downs. The last ones I bought from the offer T&MX hurph years ago. Which sort are the best and where do you find them please. I have seen the cheap ones on the market stall and steer clear. Thanks Richard
pete_scorpa3
I've welded loops on my trailer and always use ratchet straps that go through the loops and do not use hooks. I put one each side on the front wheel spindle sloping forward and one each side from the frame by the footrest sloping back. That way the front forks aren't compressed, but the bike can't roll forward or back. The last set I bought from the market had hooks on, I simply cut the hooks off and use the free end to pass through the ratchet. I've seen too many bikes fall over or even off the trailer due to a hook jumping off. Pete
Andy
Not sure why this was posted in the ACU Discussion Forum as the ACU don't have rules on tie-downs as far as I'm aware. Have moved it to somewhere more appropriate
nigel dabster
there are some good tie downs with extra loop that avoids bar chaffing most shops have them.
shercofray
Hi i use the xstrap tie downs and they seem to be the best around i have seen, theyre self retractable so dont have to bother with untangling them when coming to use them you can pick them up for 19.99, and they are a quality piece of kit: http://www.xctingdirect.com/product/f5e9bb...4de30e4fdc.aspx Cheers, fray.
