News From The Lampkin Camp...

I was surprised to read about James Lampkin and Ben Hemmingway on the front page as they swap jobs and bikes for 2005!

As most folk will remember, Ben said that his WR ride at Moutier, Switzerland would be his last attempt. Changing bikes in favour of the new Montesa 4rt and minding for Dougie - does this mean he is putting his trials career on hold (temporarily)? He's obviously a very talented rider himself which makes him an ideal candidate for the job.

Obviously James does a very good job with Dougie but maybe he's thinking about his own career now and wants to see how far he can progress. Maybe James will now concentrate on Euro/World rounds himself without having to worry about keeping DL at the top...

Any thoughts?

Have a feeling that James has wanted to "have a go" at the top trials for a while so this would make sense. Maybe Sandifords have not allowed James to enter the top class and switching allows him to do it. Don't think there's any tie up with James. I was talking to him a week or so ago and there was no mention of it. If it did happen it would be only in the UK.
