bradders
Hi just wanted some help and information, i have recently purchased a 2007 Beta Rev 4 and wondered about the general servicing of it, not having owned a 4 stroke before and with limited knowledge and skills. I have also been looking for a service manual to download but cannot find one. I would be grateful for any help Thanks.
nzralphy
hi there Go to Beta website for the owners manual. There has been lots of discussion on this site in Beta forum... try a search
gazzaecowarrior
I would do the same chassis maintenance as you would do with a two stroke. With the engine I change the oil and filter every two trials so probably every ten hours riding if you include a bit of practice. If you don't have a heat shield on the front pipe buy one as you will destroy your boots or jeans otherwise. DRC sell one for four stroke bikes and it fits perfectly. My plugs seem to last ages. Tappets, cam chain etc I havent had to do yet as the engine still sounds sweet as a nut. Hope this helps.
bradders
Hi thanks for that, just found the service manual on line and with regards the engine oil it says to replace every 30 hrs along with the paper filter, is that correct or should i do it every 10. Thanks again.
kinell
From memory, you should have two re-usable filters and one paper filter. The re-usable ones are either side of the engine, think I used to clean mine with 'air filter' cleaning fluid every 4 trials. Also changed the paper one every 4 trials too...
