Carburator

Are there any differences between carbs fitted to two strokes and 4 strokes?

For example I have a spare Mikuni originally fitted to a Beta Zero, can I fit it to a four stroke honda engine?

I understand the jetting may need changing but is there any other differences I need to be aware of.

I ask because I seem to remember that Amal concentrics are engine type specific.

I think its down to jetting and not type, I have a 22mm Dellorto PHBL on my Cub - which looks identical in every way (apart from the bore ;) ) to the 26mm version found on many of the modern bikes.

I checked Dellorto 'Carburator Book' and it doesn't differentiate between engine types for the PHBL. This might not be the best example but there are a lot of Cubs using this carb.
