steam
is there any reason why i should not fit a front mudguard mud flap to my rev 3 to protect engine from mud etc? i have not seen any fitted on modern trials bikes and also wondered if anyone supplied them or do i have to make one? liviob
I dont know how close the rev3's fender and wheel get to the radiater. On my Evo the lower end of the fender will rub the plastic radiater gaurd when the front wheel is compressed far enough. I dont know how you would fasten the flap to the fender without having a bolt or rivet tearing into the radiator gaurd and radiater itself. I think the fellas in the UK fit some kind of shield directly on the motor to keep the mud from sticking on the motor.
chewy
Idont think it's a problem on rev 3 like it is on Evo I've heard of a couple of Evo's getting muflap catch exhaust/rad jamming and snapping the mudguard a bit counterproductive!.. I've been messing about with cut oil bottle clipped between rad base & proprietry engine "mud" guard wrks very well should see similar at scottish. If you really need to stop mud getting into rad cover see John Lampkins advice re "valencing " mudguard with duct tape....it all on here somewhere Edited March 28, 2010 by chewy
eddie_lejeune
lampkins used to or maybe still do sell a mudflap which was a good job for the rev 3, on the evo I wouldnt recommend it as it can catch the front pipe and snap the mudguard
