jonnybmac
Whats the dissadvantages of a tubeless tire? My tire goes flat after about 2 hours, I think I need a new rim tape but rather than getting that I'm thinking of just putting an Inner tube on so it stays up permenantly. I've had a look round the forums to see if anyone else has asked this question and cant seem to find anything. Is there any disadvantage towards having grip with an innertube in? Doesn't the fact that they started using tubeless tyres on Trials bikes give you a clue?
lineaway
With a tube you will have the age old problem of ripping out the valve stem.
pete_scorpa3
Providing you carry on using tubless tyres but just put a tube in, you are unlikely to have any problems. I've done this a number of times when I've had a puncture in a tubless tyre just to get me through a couple of events prior to buying a new tyre. I find that the tube stays in place ok as the tubless tyre doesn't move on the rim. Have you tried fitting a new rim tape? I know this can be a real pain to get right, but it would be the simplest solution and probably cost no more than buying a tube? smalley250
Pinch flats happen when you have a tube in. I use tyre weld on me rear and it resolves the leaking rim tape for me.
