cabby
Just got myself an 07 sy250 and am brand new at the sport so excuse my stoopid questions if you will. 1) What gearing should I be running, as the rear sprocket seems a bit small compared to other scorpas I've seen. 2) How much gearbox oil should I put in when changing the oil 3) 4 psi in the rear ?? Probably many more stoopid questions to come but that'll do for starters Thanks in advance

rij
Hi oil capacity if it's a yamaha engine is normaly on the engine case by the filler cap. 6psi front 4psi rear some people run other pressures depending on condition and what the ground is like. Again spocket size some people run low gearing so they don't need to use the clutch as much. Hope thus helps rij
cabby
Cheers guys, one other question, and this probably sounds silly to you guys but, with only 4 psi in the rear it runs flat over night, is this normal due to lack of pressure or have I got a slow ? are they tubeless tyres or tubed ?? godzilla
If it go's flat overnight then the rim tape probably needs re-fitting. I swear by 650cc of oil. i tip the bike over (left and right) to make sure the old oil is out. tyre pressure for me depends on tyre brand mich dunlop i run 3.5 new and just over after this. I find SY's work well with IRC's with 4psi. i run 6 psi front what ever. I find 10 38 gearing is spot on, meny peep's gear there bike up, your better off learning to use second gear then at least you have the choice. This is how i run my bikes for twisty northern trials. cabby
80 - 1 mixture ? Is that correct ?
pete_scorpa3
I can only ever get 450mls out of my '05 no matter what I do. My rear goes flat over the period of a week since I damaged the rim tape refitting a tyre, I pump it up prior to a trial and live with it. Use some washing up liquid and brush it onto the spokes, you will probably see bubbles from around the area of the leak. I use 80mls of synthetic oil to every 5 litres of fuel.
