neo Posted March 1, 2011 Report Share Posted March 1, 2011 Oh i am sure it does,point being the stocker is close, and Chris's pic possibly suggests the clearance may be reduced slightly from my estimated 3-4mm down to 2-3 with the bit heavier linked chain. No big deal in itself. I have to say that the DID looks so tough by comparison I can't see one ever breaking .... with exception to some serious neglect. Best of balance. chewy Posted March 2, 2011 Report Share Posted March 2, 2011 I.ve just made one to go on my 2011 from white nylon, in the hope that If I get a drailment/jam up the nylon will mangle up absorb the energy etc. without ripping the mounting bolts out of the casing, maybe motre intrestingly I.ve just made an adjustable top yoke so that I can move bars foreward and or up to where I find them best for me. I found (I.m 5ft 11") 8mmm fwd and 10mm up made the bike steer and handle better for me, I.ll put a piccie on my website when they (only 2 at moment exist) get back from plating shop ,,, can't decide wether to stay with black or take bottom yoke as well and go all gold...life is so difficult eh? Thought of spending the £85 on S3 clamps but a) not very prety only limited adjustment,c) I can make exactly what I want. Thanks for the thought though. The gearbox sprocket /chainguard has been a bit of a challenge on the new Sherco as there isn't much space, a solution Iam now running with is to use only the top slave cyl. bolt to clamp it and to slip the guard over the bottom one (in the form of a pocket), avoids disturbing the o ring/ seal as well. My yoke weighed in 20 grammes lighter than std and give me + or - 8mm front to back adjustment and limitless options for height using 5 and 3 mm packers;...3... 5...6..8..9..10. etc etc. It is something I havn't messed with since I had an old 4rt Mont. but it really is remarkable how much difference to the steering/ handling a small position adjustment makes. sherco's are the least popular bike in my area for whatever reasons, but I let a couple of local mates try out before and after ; one said he would Even consider buying a Sherco with that mod. I guess it follows the old story of a good rider being able to ride anything well and the less able need all the help we can get. Gotta see them pics....move heaven and earth!!! Moving anything on anything just makes things worse as the head starts spinning at that point. Seems everythind a tradeoff in some respect. I assuming those bar clamp sliders are a precision fit to avoid any miss-alignment (or twist) with the bars.... in other words the bars alignment always stays parallel to the yokes ... if that makes sense?? chewy Posted March 5, 2011 Report Share Posted March 5, 2011 yea they're 8 mm slots for m8 (actual 7.9) ,works fine out to test at a nadgery trial tomorrow, bike feels much better for me on the drive, sprocket guard has been really trick as i want it to be a "sacrificial" component add to that the space and mounting options it's been interesting.
