Cota 247 '1 And A Half Seat'?

Hi,

Just bought a '75 Cota 247 - nice bike and looks to be the same as any other Cota BUT it has what was described as a 'one and a half seat'. The seat is deep and padded, not ideal for trials but it'd be nice and comfy on the road.

Its obvious that its genuine Montesa and not just an aftermarlet seat but I can't find any pics or details of it anywhere else....

Anybody know what it is ???

Well you're 2 years nearer than the bloke that sold it, bike is from 1977.

The bike was sold as a Cota Clubman in 1977, it had the same alloy mudguards that the UKR model had, it was meant as it's replacement. There's an article in the Rob Edwards column of TMX #14 Aug 19 1977 & then there's a full bike test in issue #20. I wouldn't be able to point out that there's several TMX news for sale on ebay at the moment, that's advertising.
