des
my questions are. 1. My bike is fitted with forks that require the top part of the fork leg which is gold and marked as ohlins to be unscrewed before it will allow the fork stancion to be removedand access to the seals. 2. Is this normal. I ask because previous bikes have been simple enough to change seals, remove lower bolt in the leg, removed top caps, remove dust seal and retaining clip then internals eventually pulling the stancion and leg apart once the old oil is removed. mine will not allow me to puul the parts apart. 3.So in all I can removed the lower parts of the fork leg and upper parts all of which unscrew.three seperate parts to the lower legs and then stancions. 4. Is this a standard fork for this year of bike or has the previous owners up graded tham at some point. I look forward to getting a reply tried to add a photo of the bike so people can see what I mean thanks Des.

des
I have managed to remove using a strap oil filter remover, which works fine. it was the only way to change the seals. otherwise you can not pull the two parts apart.
