jamesukm
Hi There, i have recently bought a gas gas TXT Pro 250, i went out on it last night and when i was finished i put it in the Van and when i got home i noticed that there was an oil leak on the floor. this oil had come from the breather pipe for the engine (this is on the left hand side). even though the bike was strapped in it had moved a bit and was slightly leaning over to the left but not greatly. is this usual or do i have a problem? manx2day
If it was from the breather on the left, by the front sprocket then it would probably be Gearbox oil which has escaped. The likely cause would be that there is too much oil in there. The oil should be roughly half way up the sight glass on the clutch case (kick start side) or about 400ml (ish). There doesn't seem to be a definate amount but while filling the gearbox then oil half way up the glass is about right and you can't really go wrong. Hope that helps? mudslugger
I had the same problem with my 300, the crank seals where changed and this stopped the oil leaking from the breather. I'd check the oil level first as stated in the previous post. Good luck.
