beta_trials
I have a 94 BETA Techno 250 and im working on setting the suspension front and back to where i like it. I have the front set to my liking but im having trouble setting the back. Im looking to set it to be a little more springy. Currently its sorta stiff and hard to work around. What can i do guys. dan williams
On a bike that old you may need new components in the suspension. If things haven't been regularly greased things can start binding and no adjustment will fix it. Dropping the rear end to have a look-see may be your best option. With the wheel off and the shock disconnected the swingarm and linkages should move freely.
beta_trials
Actually i have maintained the bike very well. nothing is binding and there is no problems any where on the bike. Its been well ridden all its life.
liviob
I have a 09 evo, and needed to adjust mine beyond what the manufacture provided for adjustments. I found a way to open the damper and change the oil to a different viscosity. It does what i need it to now. I have not ever seen a Techno damper, but if the body is aluminum it might be very easy to open it up and change the oil. If you are going to be at the next RMTA trial at Lyons quarry I could have a look. or if you have a suspension tuner nearby you could take it to him. beta_trials
Yeah ill be there for sure. Ill have to give you details on how to find me there. When i was exploring my bike and tuning some settings i took the seat off to look at the top of the coil over spring. at the top there is a blue colored knob which you can turn easily to make the suspension stiffer to compress or softer. i made it softer and losened the spring tension on the spring slightly by about a half turn. it made it bounce more. I just want to make sure that is the right direction to get where i need the suspension so im not fighting the back tire
