Seems I have found a rather cherry example of the last of the 2T's , which indeed seem somewhat scarce here, and am considering getting it as a second bike and for its somewhat historical value as the last gen. I rode one off new and thought it a decent performer as compared to some prior models, still knowing they are a bit on the heavy side, yet great fun and reliable. Great punters bike! Question being, am I just simply daft in wanting this bike for to basically sit about and play with on occasion, or does this little reliable lump have as much apeal to some others as it does to me, add the collectability. serious3 Posted April 30, 2010 Report Share Posted April 30, 2010 every one percieves them as being heavy because of the wide frame spars. they might "feel" heavy due to different geometry. mine is a little cracker and its 12 yrs old and can still give most of the more modern bikes a run for theisr money. quality is very good compared to the modern bikes (rusty 2009 gas gas anyone?) as i said in another thread i wouldnt part with mine for love nor money!! buy it and you wont regret it!! Always have found memories of the 315 - rode my last one in 2006 SSDT and was still competeitive - don't think bikes have changed much since then. My mate has kept a couple of his for sentimental reasons and when he pulls one out they go like new. The 04s where paticularily nice with the white plastics. I have been tempted to get a cheap late one and slot it into the 4rt chasis just to see what Honda should/could of done if they had kept both 2t and 4t options open. happy buying Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

micm Posted April 30, 2010 Report Share Posted April 30, 2010 I know two good local riders who still swear by their 2T Honda Monts. One won't even try another bike. Had it from new around '03 and it still looks and drives very well. If the suspension is any thing like the 4T it will be a comfortable ride. If you get fed up with it you could always stick the Showa internals in your Sherco front forks for a real treat - like a certain well know rider! Cheers, Bill Faz Cheers all, and my old friend Bill, I do not believe this is your old bike, although it was exceptionally clean as well as I recall. The bike is out west and some fellow that never rode it from new. I am trying to work a PX with him on my quad, as my funds are a bit nil still with the daughters tuition. Possibly it will work out, as I do think it would be a nice bike. Some thought did cross my mind about those forks! HeHe! Hope the Faz family is well, any chance of getting up to the Fort next week?
