I thought you guys ran twinshock rather than pre75 for trials so it shouldn't be a problem, might try the 1 off my sherco on the 250c next weekend if it'll fit to see what happens

The flat slide thing in Twinshock trials has not been much of an issue here yet, but the upcoming 2010 Aussie Titles supp regs makes specific mention of carbys for Twinshock/Classic having to be "pre-86 design" whatever that means.

If that requirement was to become part of the MA rule book, it might stuff things up for people who are using something so obviously non-period as an OKO or Keihin flat-slide carby.

Feetup, yep that'll stuff it all. Instead of allowing a newer carby, and parts availability, try and find a TK carby or parts in a hurry in OZ. It aint possible, thats why I went for the OKO. I'll try my luck with the State rounds and put my case forward if asked.

I trial fitted the OKO round slide carby today. The air filter side needs the rubber boot needs to be slightly expanded to fit, a new throttle cable is required to suit the OKO. It looks to be a good carby so far. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Going on how many people seem to be using the flatslide version on their modern bikes(me included) they're a good carb, wondre if I should use the 28mm from my sherco or give the 30mm powerjet version a try?

Ive ordered a round slide OKO, I dont think a flat slide is legal for competition here in OZ. Keeping in mind the flat slides werent thought of in 1974 for the TY.

If you need a good and cheap carb for your Yamaha have a look on Craig Malwn's website he is offering a Dellorto for 126 quit or so. I spoke with Craig on easter in Belgium and he said it is all jetted to plug and play.On of ouer mate's from the IOM had it on his Majesty 2 weeks ago in italy and he was very pleased with that carb.
