stuessenhigh
Just changed my fork seals ('cause they'd gone). Only to find a quite bad..but not TOO bad scratch on my forks that I'd done a few weeks earlier. Now that scratch seems to have already blown the new seal..only after 1 ride. I tried to polish the scratch out...but doesn't seem to work. ANyone else have any ideas??,.......OR ...havew a second hand fork stancion for sale. I;ve been quoted 110 pounds for a new one...(which is probably -VAT 'cause I'm in Hong Kong) Thanks in advance for any ideas.......(apart from dont fall off and drop your bike on the rocks......or get a fork protector!!!!......ahem!..which I will be ordering soon!) charliechitlins
A good epoxy will fill it in. Sand it smooth. Some use Crazy Glue. I never have, but it gets good reports.
stuessenhigh
HI,,,Thanks Charlie...My pal here also recommended that...so I'll give it a try. I guess best way to sand it down is very fine "wet and dry"paper??
charliechitlins
I finish all fork tubes with #600. It can be done by hand, but it's nice to spin them in a lathe.
