I guesse these were mould split/flash lines, it seems all quality control rests with the end user ; it is unacceptable but it's likely that the manufacturer is being financially sqeezed by the "distribution chain" whom if they accepted you had a valid complaint would bounce the problem all the way back to the manufacturer. Trust you over the "nevis belly" by now.

have used irc for the past 7 years or so with no problems , but since using them on my sons 09 evo and now 2010 evo have had problems with them suddenly going flat during a trial for no apparent reason.

have never had the same problem on the same bikes when using a michelin

In answer to the above;

Chris: Yes thanks, beer and food famine over, although other team members fell ill at the end of the week and shortly after returning home. All admin staff for the UCI world cup are staying "there" 1st week of June, could be interesting if downhill competitors are to, result could be effected as loos are by the finish line.

Tube type: No! For some time I was a Trials dealer and sold stacks of IRC

I've heard of a few people having problems getting IRC to stay inflated, but only on the 2010 Evo, nothing else. I've just fitted a new IRC onto a new older style Morad rim with no problem.
