samo
Hello! I tryed a new 2010 290ccm Sherco from my friend and I think this motor has no weight fitted to the flyweel. Am I right? It felt like bike has 30HP. I have Beta rev3 250 now and the power is very smooth. Are all new Shercos like this-with no or wery light weight on flyweel? Sherco does not utilize an added flywheel weight, so if you have one on your Rev 250, this change in power is rather drastic! The 250 Sherco seems tuned just a little peppier than a 250 Rev without flyweight.
tony27
That doesn't sound normal to me, normally sherco 290s are very smooth- a lot smoother than any rev3 I've ridden although I understand the uk spec betas a tuned differently to the rest of the world with a heavier flywheel etc
copemech
Not real sure how the Rev 250's varied through the years, but the later model I rode was very gentile as compared to my '05 250 Sherco. Not sure if the US bikes came with the weight? Seems to me the later Sherco's are more gentile, and I am speaking '06 and up. The "10 250 that I rode was just a pussycat! I like it! Add want one! samo
Where to buy a flywheel weight for Shercos and how to fited it?
tony27
As far as I'm aware there are no flywheel weights available for shercos, they have a heavy magneto flywheel standard & normally a very smooth delivery. I wonder if the timing has been played with to give quicker response I have ridden a sherco with a turned down flywheel which sounds to be something the better riders do & didn't find it unrideable
