1oldbanjo
This topic was discussed about 4 months ago in this thread: http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/index....showtopic=29383 You might contact the fellow that removed his decompressor and see how it has worked for the last 4 months. bobtlr
Hey, i'm running my bike without the decompressor and it works fine. no more rattle at low revs and starts very good. it needs a good prod but it works ok best regards bob
1oldbanjo
So why do you think the decompressor was added? Most manufacturers try to avoid adding parts that are not necessary - both to save cost and to eliminate potential problems. Was it added just to help old guys like me kick the bike over? bobtlr
yep thats why decompressers are used, and to make life easier for kickstarts, shafts and so on but if you start your bike like you should there are no problems, if you start jumping on the kickstart then it will not last long best regards bob
copemech
I think them things are a rather novel little device! You can actually prod that big bore 4t through with a slow gentile methodical prod and it will light off! The proper ritual for those motors without can be a bit of a drill, yet does still work! Has for ages anyway! I was a bit surprized a few weeks ago to find one in a large single cyl lawntractor motor of about 19HP! Seems it gave the little electric starter some relief!
