Suspension Tuning

Gas Gas 250 06 Marzzochi front Ohlins rear im in the process of replacing the dog bone bearings

and giving a bit of general tlc

thought id give the suspension a tune up havent fiddled about with it since buying it but

it has felt a bit dead at times i dont want it to be pogo stick crazy just a bit more plush

would be good

so where to start

i weigh 12 stone

You must start by setting the sag. Sag is critical to get the bike to work properly. Set both ends to 1/3 sag when you stand on the bike (you'll need a friend to help with the measurements). Check this every 3-6mths as springs sag.

Then adjust damping to preferred feel, but remember a slower dampened bike will tend to give more traction than an undampened.
