Northern Centre Booklet

I'm posting here because I assume they are published by the ACU.

I thought that when you received your ACU license that they also sent the little booklet with the calendar of events in your centre. Apparently not, so my question is where do I get one?

I don't want to be critical here because I really appreciate all the work that the local clubs and organisers do, but planning ahead for trials can be so difficult (I know I'm not the only one who has a busy schedule).

Usually clubs post their trials on the TC calendar which is great, but sometimes it's only a week before hand. Some clubs have websites and are kept up to date, some are not, some clubs only seem to post events in TMX, some don't seem to bother.

It used to be so easy planning ahead when it was just in TMX (and my dad would organise entries!)

Now it seems to be everywhere but inconsistent.

Is anyone else fed up with scouring different sources for trials and continuously checking websites for updates?

Again I hope nobody takes this personally because I know how much effort goes into organising events, and I really appreciate it.

I'm sure if clubs were a little more consistent with their promotion they would get more entries.

One more point. I never see trials advertised in local rags under the events section, I'm sure these listings are free and would be a good way to get more people into the sport, the only events that seem to get advertised are the ones that charge entry for spectators.

Most of the clubs send them out with Membership cards as it's your local centre. I have seen them at various trials next to the entry forms until they run out.

Thanks, I'm about to send an entry in to one of our local clubs so I'll ask if they can spare me one.

Actually I don't know why these aren't available to download on the relevant centre pages of the ACU site, anyway I've emailed them and asked if this would be possible.

So am I the only person who gets tired of trailing through different sources to find what's on?

The Local Centres each produce their own Booklets. The ACU themselves have little to do with them. In the Yorkshire Centre Barry Robinson is involved in getting them compiled and published.
Thanks, Does anybody know who to contact in the Northern Centre?
and they only show the dates for centre trials and nationals if you didn't know
That's interesting, but rings a distant bell now you mention it.

The contact for the secretary is

Mrs. D. Queen, 106 Oakwood Drive, Ulverston, Cumbria LA12 9JY. Tel/Fax: 01229 583886 email: dot.queen@btinternet.com

The ACU Site does have a list of clubs and Centres. It is a pain as all clubs decide their own dates and some have to change during the year due to weather, land issues and clashing dates. The best places to check are TMX and the Calendar on this website.

A lot of clubs do also have their own websites which have more up to date information.
