colly
i no the correct amount is 450ml but it's quite a pain to not know how much oil you have in, like on the beta's there was window to view the level, for all i know mine could be well down, with out knowing, so how often do you keep checking yours? it would of been ok, if the limit was the filler on the crank case. but it's not....... thanks colly........... munch
the gearbox does not use oil like an engine ,unless leaking it wont change so once in no need to check it between changes
Guest Ady Witting
On my sherco 125 i change my oil every 6 months or keep draining it out and measuring it in a jug Sherco mad man
Guest Ady Witting
You need to change the about every 6 months because the selectar drum runs next to the oil drain so it will get all muck in it. So you need to change it every 6 months.

Guest Ady Witting
After washing it of DO NOT START THE BIKE UP as the air box is proon for getting water in so clean it out. If you don't clean the water out the water will go into the engine and will effect the main bearings and componts. I have just changed my second hand Sherco main bearings at a cost of around
toofasttim
After washing it of DO NOT START THE BIKE UP as the air box is proon for getting water in so clean it out. If you don't clean the water out the water will go into the engine and will effect the main bearings and componts. First sensible thing you've said. If unjustified. Firstly potable water shouldn't do any damage to bearings if flushed fairly soon after washing, secondly, best way to flush (small quantities) of water is to start the bike. Do not try this with saline water. It nearly put me hospital. For more info regarding Sherco waterproofing see previous posts by Ishy. BTW IMO, never use power washers. Remember oil is cheap, gearboxes are not. Change it as often as possible. Edited February 24, 2005 by TooFastTim
steveo
I have been changing my selector drum every six months and my oil every twelve months. Do you think if I was to change my oil every six months the selector drum could be left a bit longer.
Guest Ady Witting
Yes the selector drum should be lrft alone for about 2-3 years if possible
