rockyrider
Has any one had luck or experience using Leak Proof
motovintage
I do not recomend Leakproof seals, they are not made right, they have no garter spring, gators are ok but need to be cleaned out from under regularly, if you are blowing seals often your bushings may be wornout. max1956bikes
theres no such thing as leak proof seals.most likely problem is the top bush if not very good fit seals will leak.or chrome pitted on stancion.
anyoldiron
Try cleaning out between the seal and the stanchion-a bit of camera film if you have any or some such similar stuff. There often gets trapped here some grit/crud that causes oil to weep through and appear like a seal has blown.I have had seals'blow' four or five times since replacing them and each time have done the above with the film and the result has always been a good seal that has lasted until the next time, generally months.Of course if its worn or pitted, sort that first. copemech
As mentioned , there is a lot of fiddling around you can do with these things, but if things are in fair shape otherwise, I would just get some factory seals(and wipers if damaged) disassemble and clean everything properly and install new seals, install the full length neoprene booties with the zip ties on top as well, as they are well sealed and I have never had seals leak on my bikes. Maybe just lucky! The film strip just re-arranges the dirt that is already in there! I try to get the Delay booties in blue if possible, I think BRX had some last I checked. But yet, I have used some half length ones that Lewisport sold at the time and had no problems, just checked them periodically. All point being, if things are clean and kept, problems are fewer. tony27
An alternative seal is available from all balls- part number 55-137, the seals are common to kz1000 kawasakis amongst others
