Hi in my recent post i said my gearbox oil had been mixing with water! due to the water pump seal. Bought new seals and shaft. put it all back together last night all looking nice. Filled up coolant and oil all good, then tryed to kick bike off and the problem is that the kick start just stays down and does not spring back into position??? What have a done??? Am i gunna have to strip it back down again and start again??? Any help please Graham

Could be two problems. Did you use a new gasket. The tolerance on that side case is very minimal, so over tightening could cause this. And / or did you remove that large bolt at the top of the case that is just under the exhaust???? That bolt holds the detent for the kick start return spring. In which case it has to be reassembled with the correct tension on the spring.

all sorted now. spring for the kick start was in the right place! just the coller on the shaft had moved and wasent over the spring so was getting jammed when case was put back on!
