ao7971
what size compressor does anyone recommend for getting the bead to pop out on a tubeless tyre? Will a 25 litre tank be up to the job?
bikespace
I manage with a 25 litre, but I bought a tyre beader. You'll find previous threads about 'em. Bloody wonderful thing once you shorten it a bit (Dabster tip). I paid through the nose for mine from Spain. Now available from www.trialsbits.co.uk. They do say you can get it inflated with a foot pump with one of these beaders. I managed it once, but it's not reliable. Needed to cut 2 inches out of mine and superglue it back together. grouse
I use a 25 L compressor. If you get a piece of pipe and put it directly on to the valve with a jubilee clip, put a quick release coupling on the other end and once the compressor is fully charged join the couplings and bang usually one tyre fitted.A drop of soapy water around the tyre also helps.
