smiffy Posted August 3, 2010 Report Share Posted August 3, 2010 Hi all,just tried a search for any info on replacing the headstock bearings on my 98 315r,just found bearing numbers,so if anyone can point me in the right direction if this topics been covered already thanks,if not ive changed bearings before on road bikes,but if anyone knows some good advice or ways of doing it on the montesa id be very gratefull. tt5th Posted August 3, 2010 Report Share Posted August 3, 2010 I did it not so long ago, most of it was simple enough. The only bit I struggled with was putting the new bearing on the steering stem. I took it to my local bike shop and they used their 'special tool' to hammer it on, took them 2 minutes. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

tt5th Posted August 6, 2010 Report Share Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) I can't find a picture of it anywhere - it was a Motion Pro stem bearing driver I think. Essentially a long tube which he used to hammer the bottom bearing into place with. A bit like a fork seal driver.
