colly
i have a sherco 200, which is fitted with a delorto pblh26 carb, what settings should i run on the carb to make my bike more responsive, i have the air screw out 4 turns, will different jeting make a difference, also what other things could i do to the bike to make it more responsive, i already have a fast action throtle on, some one metioned about taking a weight off the flywheel? (whatever this means) thanks colly
copemech
I have seen several of the top 125 Sherco riders that use the 2.9 header pipe which is larger diameter at the head. I think the 2.0 comes with the smaller pipe as well. I think to be truly effective you would need to match(enlarge) the exhaust port to flow well with the pipe. The 26mm carb is big enough(same as the 2.5 and 2.9) and jetting changes will not make it have more power neccessarily, just make it run properly. The 2.0 already has the light flywheel. also, Have someone ck your igniition timing with a timing light to ensure that it is set correctly. The factory does make mistakes! A change in reed valves may make a difference, but I do not know anyone that has done it on the 2.0. Cheers!
copemech
ps- The V-Force reeds are supposed to be the hot set up for the big bikes, e-mail Dabber and see if he will buy a set to try on the 2.0. If they don't work you can save a few quid that way!
nigel dabster
Vx plug, boysens and a keihin may help.
colly
will a vx plug help on it's own?
hodgyno1
jetting wont give you more power but your air screw sounds a littel too far out. standard is 3 to 3 1/2 turns out, you might find it a little more responsive if you screw it in a little, not too much though or it will run weak.the bigger front pipe does make a difference, but if you buy one make sure you ask for an 04 model not the 05 because the 05 pipe is designed to make the bikes run softer. you cant fit a kehin carb to a 200 or 125 because the barrell is shorter and carbs hits the top of the crank cases.you can get the flywheel skimmed to make it lighter, again making the bike more responsive and it will rev a little harder, it would be costly if the flywheel was damaged though!!! the easiest way is to advance the timing a little. this is best done by someone qualified because if you get it wrong it can cause all sorts of problems. A BP5EVX plug will help it run a bit more efficiently, but dont expect drastic results!
alan bechard
I am not positive, but I believe someone on here said they had fitted a Kehin on the 125? I have considered doing it to Christina's as well, but she said she was happy with it where it was.
colly
However 24mm Korean copies of flat side Keihins are available, at really reasonable prices, and would probably be ideal for smaller engined bikes! how much and were from? thanks
