pat slinn
Hi, Can I encourage everybody to go along to the classic trials bike exhibition at Stonleigh at the weekend. I know that Charlie Prescott and Mick Andrews and many others have worked their "thingies" of to make this happen. Our sport during the 60's and 70's was a source of inspiration to many people, standard bikes and parts were modified into successful trials bikes, and many of these bikes will be there at Stonleigh. Look forward to seeing you there. pat.

charlie prescott
Hi Guy's, The "Classic Trials Show" starts at Nine O'clock, with a riders briefing and a walk through the sections, the Auto jumble will be open, as will the trade stands , and most bikes should be on show by then. We have a very special Ex Works BSA, coming on the Saturday as well> one you will not want to miss. Colin Dommett will interview several guests during both days, and we will try to get photo calls of bikes and riders. More details tomorrow. and a running order of classes ETC. Regards Charlie. motormouse
Hello Pat, Very nice to meet you at the show and enjoyed the chat. Got some nice pictures and ideas for my own Cubs. Will come better prepared next year footwear-wise and get to see the trial. Had a pleasant chat with Mick and reminised over his trips to Ireland in the past which both he and his wife enjoyed. Sorry to have missed meeting Charlie - next time. Gerry Martin

charlie prescott
Hi Guy's Hi Gerry. I am so sorry I missed meeting you, and probably passed you by several times, dashing from one place to another (slowly). I should have been contacted by radio but they were mostly damp. I am so glad you met some of the "Stars" at the show. and enjoyed what was there. You must try and get over for the week end next year. for the atmosphere in the evenings was absolutely brilliant, and what away to meet , all of the best people, involved with the Classic Trials scene. Regards Charlie.
pat slinn
I have returned from the Classic trials bike show at Stonleigh full of respect and admiration for the organizers, Charlie and Richard Prescot and their family. The prescott family went out on a limb and organized this "first" in the trials world. I hate to think what their own financial commitment was. They even took along six of their own pre 65 four stroke trials bikes, and as Charlie said to me they are there to be used, and indeed people did use them. There idea for the express trial was taken up by some of the finest pre 65 riders in the country, the new format encouraged inspirational riding, on seriously good muddy sections, thanks should also go to Mick Andrews, Allan Whitton, and other's, (sorry lad's I dont know your names, but thank you). for choosing and marking out the sections. The exhibition of Trials bikes pre 65, and even earlier!, was I believe the first time that such a collection has ever been put together. Put all that together with a good social atmosphere, and a good time was had by all. I am sure that Charlie & Richard have learnt a lot from this year, and we look forward to a even better show and trial in 2011. Thanks you. Pat Slinn. Looking at the comments elsewhere a good time wasn't had by all and the constructive comments should be accepted and addressed.
