bilc0
Word is out Fantic Motor maybe producing a modern trialer,im praying to God there's not going to be a 4 stroke yam motor sitting in the frame.
ham2
If this is **** IT **** ,then it's been along time coming. That ladder style frame seems similar to the rumoured Jordi Tarres bike that we saw a few weeks ago? Edited August 17, 2010 by HAM2
bilc0
I hope not,im expecting abit more from Fantic than them giving us something they first showed us 4 or 5 years ago.
ham2
Alrighty Bilco, just for fun, let's hear what you would like from the new Fantic, 'blue-sky' thinking if you know what I mean ......oh, and a price tag to go with it. axulsuv
The factory just released some hype about their new big bore 2t Caballero's to be released soon , so maybe a big trialer too ... !
htrdoug
"regarding trial bikes we are thinking about but it will take time"<----- In the Email I received from dr. Federico Fregnan,General Manager a week and a half ago(I was trying to buy a few of the cool "Broncco" shirts from them, but they were out of stock. Doesn't sound like they are ready to start developement of a trials bike just yet,I'd say they'll have to sell lots of playbikes first. While it'd be fun if they could bring out something like the Ossa I think if they're smart they'll wait and see how well they sale,I wouldn't mind if they started with Yammie engined bikes if it got them back into the mix,Hell, they could just rebadge the Gasgas japanese market prototype without the electric start and a smaller tank and I'd be happy, then possibly step up with a watercooled model a bit later, offering four stokes when everyone else drops them might be a way to get a secure slice of the market. 2 stroke 300cc Caballero? fark, maybe I'll sell my LC4e,sounds like fun! Drum brakes that pull like disc's,cable controls that operate as light as hydraulics,an awesome aircooled motor in a light weight frame, enough meat on the body to give it some way out curves,a real retro look and feel. Money wise your probaly look between 6 to 8 grand. It would also be nice to buy a new part straight from shelf at a reasonable price instead of going all round the world buying high priced rust. The only people that can turn trials around is the maufacture's of the bikes, well now you got me sitting on the moon Wayne. The Italians arn't known to copy so what they might bring will be the best. ham2
Whoa! I wasn't expecting that sort of reply Bilco ..but I did ask. I'm not knocking your wish list here! So what you're saying is you would prefer a brand-new bike on an old design?..and you're OK with a price tag circa
bilc0
Even the modern bikes we have now are being reworked on an old design. With a 7k price tag you would want all the lightest strongest materials worked into the bike im not so sure you could get a one off bike built from ground up for 7k with all quality parts and a completly unique engine, you would also have a problem with spares. If Fantic bring us something i got a feeling they would'nt want to give us the budget end your hoping for Wayne,Xispa tried this and failed. If a modern Twinshock came along it would need to be of it's own character completly diffrent from the past range of models.
axulsuv
If I remember the rumor from back when the 50cc prototype was released , I had read that the was a chance of suzuki suplying the motors for a fullsize Fantic ... But I would love to be able to buy a 2012 240 pro ... (mellow 300+cc and some modern touches ...) And the ability to buy NEW parts for the bike !!! Glenn , ( dreamin at lunchtime !) axulsuv
I would just love to be able to buy a bike (NEW!!!) that was designed to be the ultimate no stop bike , kinda like the bikes I had when I first started riding trials in the early 70's . (no stop , no minders , you broke, you fixed it !) Tight technical sections etc. etc. etc. And a disc braked twinshock would be cool too ... Although in snow and ice they can be a disadvantage ! But I think a large bore 2t or a smaller 4t twinshocker would be a blast and they would sell as many as they could build , just 'cause the newbie's are afraid to commit to a late model trials bike , I think it would get more new people into trials and let them progress (fantic term!!) as far as they want !
