mike31270
was wondering if anyone has had this problem when started up from cold, with choke on or off. The bike smokes and splutters and will not rev out properly. Was wondering if anyone knows what hte plug gap should be as i cant find this information anywhere. I am running a 60:1 mixture with silkolene comp 2 ester synthetic. could be the oil mix. Does anyone use this oil is it any good any help would be appreciated. bike takes around 10 mins till it runs properly then it seems to run fine apart from it seems to slow down on its revs at tickover and sometimes stalls. houseape1000
I hope it is normal, cos mine does it too, just never bothered me, don't want to rev it out until its warm anyway !
copemech
The NGK plugs run well at 0.6mm it seems. You can back off the oil a bit to 80:1, which should help the smokeyness. Be sure to turn the fuel off when transporting the bike so it does not slosh up a lot into the motor. Other than that, sounds pretty normal, yet don't rev it high untill the fan cycles and you got some heat in the motor. Pistons do not like that! t-shock 250
Why do you want to rev the bike out when it isn't warmed up? This is one of the worst things you can do to an engine.
