slack
Hi again every body the clutch is slipping on my 05 raga 300 when you let the leaver out,it only does it for a few seconds then is ok. I have just replaced the clutch pack about 6 weeks ago so surely it cant be worn. I f you ride the bike without using the clutch it is fine & does not slip, but touch the lever & it will slip momenterally. I spoke to factory Kev at GG to day & he said if i'd put the DP clutch plates in they dont work well with ATF dextron II which i run in my bike, has anybody expirenced this problem before or am i the first. THANKS.
laser1
When you put in the new pak - did you make sure the thick plate went in 1st? Also - make sure you have free play at the clutch lever plunger pin. Edited August 24, 2010 by laser1
slack
Hi laser 1 thanks for your re-ply i wasn't aware there was a wrong or right way to insert the plates as for the free play on the leaver yes there is plenty.Like i said in the post yesterday after speaking to Kev at GG uk he said nothing about which order to put the plates in,he just said that the dp clutch pack i got was'nt suiteble for the dextron ii atf oil & i would be better using a light gear oil 10/30 or simaler.THANKS
laser1
I would go with Kev's recommendation on any fluids for the bike. He's seen it all. Yes - The clutch basket has a step in the bottom that is deeper than 2 of the "same" thickness plates and requires the one Thick plate to go in 1st - otherwise you essentially take this plate out of the pak. If you measure them, you will easily find the thick one.
slack
Hi just an update i was going to strip the clutch on friday & check the plates, but phoned Kev at GG first to see if ther was a right or wrong way to install the plates. His answer was it didnt matter which way they were installed, so flushed the ATF out & put some motul 10/30 transoil in which has cured the problem, so thanks to all who reply'd & a big thanks to KEV.
