rlk_76
Hi, I'm rebuilding a '70 Sherpa T and was wondering if anyone has experience with gas tank restoration. The bike ran fine until it sat in a barn for the last few decades. I'm wondering the best way to clean it out and if sealing the inside is recommended. I have zero experience with fiberglass tanks. Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks. Ryan California USA

There are a couple different favored sealers (sloshes) but you need to look up this topic and follow accordingly. I think I recall Caswells or something like that. Otherwise, keep the auto gas out of it and just get Avgas or race gas for now.
