telecat
Telecat,The U.S. standard for pump fuel octane is a combination of MON and RON divided by 2, so it is an average. For motorsports use the MON number is more significant as it is derived by more severe testing standards. Jon Ahhh!! you use the AKI index. As for The testing differs mainly in the engine revs used(900 instead of 600RPM), and variable timing rather than variable compression. Hence it is seen as a better gauge of "knocking" resistance when an engine is under load.
htrdoug
I'd like to run the VP C10 100 octane, but my local guy would have to get it just for me,and as such would cost double the VP-110,Think I'll try the 50-50 mix as that's the most easily available non-oxygenated fuel that won't bog me down with excessive octane and may not require much rejetting.
