ormplus
it will probably be the stator .check with a meter to see if there is any power coming out. if not remove and send to a rewinding company. they advertise in most papers .maybe on t/c .they wont take long to rewind it and not to dear .hope this helps. tony27
While you're checking the connectors it's only a 5 minute job to check the stator readings, the test is explained in this link http://www.splatshop.co.uk/stator-repair.html I had a similar problem late last year with no spark which didn't come back after unplugging then replugging the connectors but when I tested the stator the next day it returned & also showed a hairline crack in the original plug cap which was shorting to the fan motor Do the test when everything is dry & hopefully it will just be something minor rather than a dead stator

Blue - 600 to 730 (actual reading 884) Brown - 650 to 770 (actual reading 940) Black - 650 to 770 (actual reading 940) Any help PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. Many Thanks Brent. tony27
Differences in readings are pretty consistant which will be down to your meter, the black to earth flashing then going open circuit is more of a problem. Email or call Chris at splatshop & see what he thinks of your readings, I've found him very helpful when having my problem last year
copemech
Long story made short, Just get Chris to send you a CDI and a stator to see which fixes it, if you have checked all the other connections. Other than the suply coil readings, the Hall effect readings can be misleading at best, and still doen not mean they will function properly under working conditions.
