john b
Hi The Oil pump on the TY80 I'm rebuilding is disconnected, but still in place. To remove, does it simply unbolt, or do you need to split the cases ? The pump itself has been removed but the driveshaft won't come out, and the driveshaft rotates with the engine ? Any help appreciated cheers John
betarick
remove clutch cover and remove gear from cover! you will need to make a blanking plate and gasket to blank off hole where gear was!
john b
Thanks for that ! So take the small cover off then remove the pump, then remove the whole clutch side cover ? I have a blanking plate - I bought along with a fortune's worth of other spares ! .... but I'm sure Christmas day will be worth it cheers John

zippy
If the oil pump and shaft are left in place, but the plastic gear and associated washers/clips on other side of clutch cover are removed. Would that be basically the same as removal and a plate put in place?
