tonyp
Hi, I'm building a C15 special. I've had to cut out the bottom of the fuel tank to accommodate the engine and there's no room for a petrol tank in the normal place, so I'm hoping to fit it under the seat. But I'll need to pump the petrol. Has anybody solved this sort of a problem before. Either using a Pulse Pump, or an electric pump. I've tried a pulse pump (from a chinese copy type bike), driven off the inlet manifold, but it didn't pump anything. If you've solved the problem, what specific pump did you use. With an electric pump is there a risk of creating too much pressure and flooding the carb ? Tony.

I'm familiar with the Mikuni pumps used in personal watercraft and used a couple for special one-off roadracers and had no problem. You might check into the Sherco pump used on the new models, I bet that would work. Jon

But the carb. you use may not handle the pressure from the pump all the time. Another option is split the fuel line going from the pump to the carb, and run the other split back to the tank (put the split or "Y" very close to the carb. fuel inlet) This way fuel is always available from the fuel line but with little or no pressure. I did this on a TL 250 with a Keihin Carb.
