midlife
Does any one know where to get bushes for the swinging arm, its the metal elastic type.I am thinking that when the frames were made beamish used what was available like off a car suspension. turps
As far as I'm aware they're no longer avaliable, when my Beamish needed new bushes I got some new ones turned out of nylon and they do the job and should be longer lasting. It also worked out a lot cheaper than buying the swingarm repair kit already mentioned. The hard part is taking the old ones out, the way I did it was with a lot of heat to burn the rubber inners out and then carefully cut the outer with a dremel multi and then punch the remains out with a chisel.Hope this helps. beamish owners club
You can modify the swing arm to take other bushes but the original metalastick ones had no moving parts and lasted on average 30+ years. I am machining another 10 sets with stainless nuts, spindles, spacer and washers in the next few weeks.
