dbell
Never had a brand new trials bike but when my suspension is fully serviced on my big bikes, the forks start out stiffer and loosen up as the new parts break in. Also in cold weather, the oil in the suspension is thicker and the suspension is stiffer. Refill forks with lighter weight fork oil if you need less damping. I am seriously considering getting next year's (2011) 300 Raga model. I am just having to much fun with this sport after only riding for 1-year. I picked up a 1999 270 gasgas to learn better balance for the big bikes and have ended up spending most of my time on the trials bike now. Enjoy the 280. I have tried the 2009 Raga 280 a few times it has ton's of power and it felt like a dream compared to my older model.
motomerlin
The forks will loosen up. But I found my 09 GG forks needed some work: I went to 2.5 w oil. And trimmed the plastic spacer (on top of springs) by 5mm. Also tried a different make of fork seal. Now they're pretty good. I tried a Raga & 2011 and the forks seemed fine. But bikes can vary.... telecat
Santa has got me a 2011 280!! Been out for a quick play and i'm very impressed, front forks feel very hard, comp backed off and still feel hard, any ideas anybody? We had this after the forks were dissembled. Some Swarf got in and blocked the flow of the Fork Fluid. Quick clean and all was well.
