Hey guys i need to know what i should be running for transmission oil in my 94 beta techno 250. Im currently using DEXTRON III or DEX MERC as its also called. Its a little thicker compared to what cam out of the bike from its first oil change since i have had it. I have noticed that it makes my cluch more grabby and i have had to compensate with the adjustment screw all the way in to get it to release. Before i changed the oil it was just fine. Its not a worn out clutch either. Bike has hardly been ridden in all its life till now. So what oils are you guys using and what would be the best.

Hi Beta_Trials

You could use Putoline GP10 which is very good (i have used this in my last few beta evos.)

I now use Putoline Nano Trans GP Gear Oil which is expensive but even better

Some people like Maxima trans oil or type F trans oil. I have been using with good results GM autotrac2 transmission oil. I'm sure there are others to try. You might give your clutch plates the Dan Williams mod at the top of the page. This mod makes a very noticable difference in clutch feel. No more light switch or dragging. Well worth the time it takes to do the mod. Also set the oil level lower than stock to 425cc.
