dis
Seems that this class is no longer recognised between lack of interest from riders and some importers believe is is no longer a valid class. There are 15 in the Championship class - a couple of new riders, leaving only 35 spaces fot the expert class that 65 have applied for. Should be an interesting championship. If anyone has any strong opposing views to the omission of the masterclass then you must let the ACU know within seven days. Dis
Guest Scottie
We received some info from the ACU today. I think they did get the 10 riders they required for this class but some of the riders were unlikely to contest in more than one round. Pity! jrsunt
Why are the acu only letting 50 riders in, anyone know?
Guest Scottie
John It's actually 55 riders but 5 places are allocated to the youths. I am not certain if the lads who applied for the masterclass will step up into champ class or down into the expert? Sandra
trialsboy48
Shame about masters, it was a good idea for a stepping stone but hasnt caught on, Who are the 15 championship riders, do you know?
Guest Scottie
Ok! Jarvis, Colley, Connor, Austermhule,Phillipson, Hemmingway, Morris, Mika, James D, Gary, Eddie Mac, Liam Walker, J Cardinells, Michael Brown and Joe Baker - I think? timp
I can't see why the ACU don't allow a few more riders than 55. Most of the British champ rounds are held during long daylight hours so another 15-20 riders probably wouldn't be too much of a problem. trialsboy48
It looks like another mess by the ACU doesnt it? Master class was a good idea and maybe should be continued. There are many top names missing from the list - Thorp, Moorhouse, Ludgate sager etc - Surely they should be aiming higher and going to full championship rather than experts? At first ACU said they would run masters if they got 10 entries, they got them now they have changed again. Who decides this? Surely something needs to change at the top to bring on the top riders and encourage others to have a go and increase uk chances of more world riders and not add to a fading bunch
Guest Scottie
I have just returned the riding bibs to the ACU. The rider numbers goes up to number 70. Has the championship ever been run with more than 55 riders? Just curious! Sandra
bdmc
Just a thought? What about 3 rounds as the c/ship is now. ie on a small compact course. 2 courses maked out, plus three more rounds on a national course, preferance given to riders competing on the harder course. eg The Travers, The White Rose, The Colemore Cup to name a few.
