Difference between 10 Raga and 11 Pro

As the title suggests i am curious as to the Difference between 10 Raga and 11 Pro. Given by the time they arrive in Australia it is only a few months before the 11 arrives. Wondering if it is worth the extra cost, $2000.

The only differences i can note are the colour scheme, the handle bars and higher compression head.

And really if that is all then $2000 dollars will buy the head for the pro model and many other performance parts.

so my question is what are the real differences to justify the extra money and is it worth it?

Thanks for your time, tried to find the answers on the forum here and various websites without luck.

I'm not sure who gave you the information but the RAGA is Not $2000 more expensive, not even $1000 more! (in Australia - not sure about other markets).

Amongst the changes you noted, and the huge list of changes from the 2010 model (new frame, new airbox, new rear guard and other plastics, new front and rear wheels, new rear master cylinder, new Michelin X-Lite tyres etc etc.)

The Raga has magnesium crankcases (TXT is Alloy)

Keihin flat slide carby (TXT is Dellorto PHBL)

Raga reeds and reed block (quite different to standard setup)

Different bars, grips and smaller "bling" items (M/cylinder caps etc)

Raga alloy footpegs (TXT Hebo style steel pegs)

The Raga was a little late into OZ this year (Aug) due to production delays in Spain, but it will available in the middle of 2011.

The GasGas usa site has some info on the bikes. Please keep in mind, there may be local variations, so you should check and verify with your GG dealer.

2011 pro

2010 Raga - note caption says 2011, but shows a 2010. The new 2011 (with Chassis changes) is not out yet

http://www.gasgas.com/2011_raga.htm

The big differences are:

Magnesium Engine cases on the Raga, vs AL on the Pro. Saves a few pounds.

Keihin Carb and Raga Manifold Vs Dellorto on Pro

Some of the little things are, upgraded brakes, rims, hubs, bearing throttle, bars ect..

In the Past, the Raga had a upgraded DID rear wheel (no rim band) and the Pro had a standard Morad. For 2011, The US based bikes claim the Std 2011 pro will have the Morad DID style rim as well. I would advise checking with your dealer on that, as I have seen photos of the Std 2011 bikes w/o the DID style rim. These may have been early shipment bikes, and the bikes that are shipping now will get the DID style. In the past, there has also been some suspension differences. For instance, The Racing version gets a Ohlins Shock.

$2000 seems like a huge markup. The Markup for a Raga in the USA is About 10% over the cost of a Std bike.

edit - strange - the post above mine was not there earlier in the day and was a 20011 sherco post instead. Anywho - looks like you have the Ausie answers from Arnoux and the good news is your not looking at 2K. The Raga is one heck of a bike for the money IMO - in the USA anyway. Still, most mortals will never use the "added" capability over the TXT.

Hi Paul,

Sorry about my errors in the post. I was not meaning to cause any offense or to make Gas gas or yourself look bad so if that has happened i am sorry. I think the Raga is a fantastic bike, i have ridden a few of them in the past and they are great. I knew that they were significantly different to the 2010 but was unsure of the differences between the 11 model. Thanks for the information.
