broony
Has anyone had any experience with one of these badboys, got one today and fitted to the Bantam(don't laugh) didn't notice much difference.I tried it in all 3 positions no difference. My friend fitted one to his James and noticed a vast improvement, making the clutch lighter. What is the lightest position of the 3 holes?Thought it was a good idea but may have to mod. the clutch arm instead and reposition the cable . cheers the noo Brian
moleman
Difficult to set up and adjust, as you know you have two cables to adjust, more nipples to come off and more things to break, i had one for a while and it did work, but any variations as it warms up are hard to compensate for. and its a liability if you fall off as much as i do i went on to the 3 position levers (about the same price) and they have been just as useful at lightening but far easier to adjust and they use a std length cable, i had to shorten the cable to fit the easy clutch and it meant you were stuck if something happend to it, you cant fit a spare lever etc. i have had a look at my old one and as you view from the front the pin was in the bottom hole. old trials fanatic
Dont bother just mod the clutch actuation lever by lengthening it. Dont add too much though or the clutch might not part fully. Did this mod on my old Laverda Jota which were notourious for needing a grip like a Scotsman on his purse, sorry Brian couldnt resist, and by adding 1" and repositioning the cable stop with a small alloy bracket the clutch was at least passable for a Derbyshire lad. totalshell
as well as the clutch arm hunt through the parts bins to find a lever with the most throw. and if poss a lever that has an adjustable position so you can set it just on biting point and is a comfortable reach for your finger. b40rt
Found this to make a difference on my SWM. 3 positions to choose from, and adjuster pivots to suit. Got it from trials bits. Ross Edited January 20, 2011 by B40RT
