My sy 250 boiled up today, which makes me have a problem with the fan I think as I can't recall it coming on today....anyway, can anyone suggest a couple of easy tests to find the issue ?

Thanks in advance.

Short out the 2 terminals on the thermostat on the bottom of the rad then start the bike, if the fan comes on it's your thermostat thats gone not the fan. you could also connect the fan to a car battery, if you have it out that is.

try the thermostat first and let us know how you get on.
