coriolis Posted January 30, 2011 Report Share Posted January 30, 2011 I was watching the first round of the X-Trial series in the FIM website, and noticed that Albert has something mounted near the frame, just infront of the fuel pump. It looked about 5 or 6 inches long, and tubular in shape. Anyone know what this is? Im guessing an aftermarket fuel pump, or a gas canister for the rear shock. Also, does anyone know what shock he uses? Obviously we dont all need our bikes to run like the pros, but its nice to know what they do different ! coriolis Posted January 30, 2011 Author Report Share Posted January 30, 2011 For me, the suspension (in particular the rear) has always let sherco down. The current front forks seem similar to beta, but just dont feel as good. And i have never been a fan of the olle shock. They are, pardon the pun, SHOCKING ! Id like to get hold of a pair of showas from an old 315. I loved those forks. And am contemplating an ohlins for my bike at the moment. micm Posted January 30, 2011 Report Share Posted January 30, 2011 I am told the Showa units are too wide to fit the Sherco rear suspension gap. Cabes had Showa front forks or internals it was said. An Ohlins does improve it a bit but it isn't the silver bullet. Some 'works' rear swing arms in the past have been made longer for traction in UK conditions - 18 mm or so.
