youthy
I have a 03 250 pro and have been replacing slave cyclinder seals however on removing the top hat(plunger) i have found two seals the first similar to a brake piston seal and the second a standard o ring, the top seal didnt look to good so will be replaceing with new set, the spring that runs through the centre has a small steel insert in the centre of the spring aparently this is an 03 thing only and it looks asthough someone has made the one in my bike out of a nail or rivet, ground on the end and generally a bit bodgy just wondering if anyone knows what this is doing as the later models 04 onwards dont have this fitted and im wondering if i can disregard this part or if its crutial to have a new one fitted with new seal kit

The "nail" apparently is to stabilize the long spring and prevent wear to the servo cylinder tower and I'd probably leave it in there.
