neo
I suppose you could fill it full of water instead of petrol .... but why would you want all that extra weight up so high on the bike? If you use a bladder backpack (Camelbak) it's weight shifts with your weight. So can work with you rather than against you. Best of balance. neo
1.5 to 2.0 ltr should be good. Try and get one that has a horizontal strap that snap clips across your chest ... the lower the better. Best of balance. Neo

Neo I run a Camelback ROGUE, which is a medium size, has a couple good pockets for small tools and will carry a decent quantity of water for hot or long outings. Cannot do without! The small ones, just for water, are better than nothing! And weigh nothing!

b40rt
Have a look at the Camelback Mule, slightly small but stops you carrying to much crap.
