martinm
Just the wanderings of a poor memory , but did I see somewhere a picture of a Saracen with a Bantam motor in it ? A friend of mine sold one at Telford last year, it was just a rolling chasis with Bantam crankcases...so they do exist, but sadly no photo. trialsrooster
Thanks all , I guess that wasn't something I dreamed up after too much whiskey at the campfire. I had the last Wassell Bantam produced , how it got to the US I don't know , nobody over here had a clue what it was other than they thought it was a Penton that we put an odd motor in Cheers

victor1
Hi Trialsrooster, just curious as to how you knew that you had the last Wassell Bantam produced and wondered how many were actually made.
laird387
Hi trialsrooster, Here's an image of the original Saracen developed by my old friend Ron Goodfellow, the intention was to develop a kit bike that would give an inexpensive route into trialling - the full story is told in ORRe - available exclusively from this site. Enjoy, Deryk Wylde
laird387
Just the wanderings of a poor memory , but did I see somewhere a picture of a Saracen with a Bantam motor in it ? Hi, And to prove they were used in trials, here is a picture of Ron Goodfellow, who created them, with his Bantam version in a Golden Valley trial. gordo
Just out of curiosity, I have a Saracen frame set up for a Sachs motor. I would like to put a 175 Bantam in it. Probably a foolish question, but is this difficult to do? Hate to mess up the nickel plating with a lot of cutting and welding.

Chrs:Mike The book that you refer to as the 'First' Offroad Review was actually three issues of the ORR magazine combined into one book when I was struggling to keep the publishing business head above water - there were 80 other issues before that book............ Enjoy Deryk PS It is all being reproduced, brought up to date and republished in ORRe - available EXCLUSIVELY from this website.......
