Looks like the monty 4rt has got power after all!

I dont think an under powered heavy bike with the extra weight of a chair

and another person could win a national trial do you ?

I think the doupters should take note,4 STROKE IS THE WAY TO GO.

What we saying here, it pulls loads well. Should there be a trailer option for it?

The problem so far seems to be with that instant snap required for indoor, probably not a requirement for sidecars.

A lot of the comments made about the power, I think are pretty fair. It doesn't seem to have it yet. No need for the Honda boys to get too stirred up about a little criticism.

It'll get there at some point, the money is there to make it happen.

If Honda has enough money, to be able to fundamentally alter the laws of physical science, then they certainly would be able to build a 4stroke motor, which would equal a 2 stroke in all areas.

In real terms though this is quite impossible, so while the 4 stroke motors will in some ways, be better than 2 strokes, they will never fully match the 2 strokes in every area.

If the proposed ban on 2 strokes is ever implemented (which seems unlikely), and all the factories are running 4 strokes, then the differences between the 2 are obviously not going to be an issue.

So why is there never a 2 stroke in speedway then?

Because the rule 58.01 state 4 Stroke single cylinder, maximum 4 valves and 1 spark plug and 1 carby not exceeding 34mm diameter.

Also some other points 50mm Diameter Constant exhaust pipe.

No Brakes allowed.

So why is there never a 2 stroke in speedway then? Hi, the answer to your question is that they do not have much in the way of engine braking, a must when running without brakes, and the power characteristics are not ideal. A Jawa/ESO or JAP engine has masses of torque over a wide rev range, the two stroke tends towards a narrow peaky power band. The revered Don Smith, of Greeves fame, tried a 360 Greeves engine in a speedway bike many years ago, and found it very fast but nigh on uncontrollable into and out of the corners.
