You might try cleaning the thing first, and figuring out what you got before ordering unneccessary parts. Call Chris at Splatshop for further recco's and verification on UK jetting. I can't come close to running a 33 pilot here on pumpgas with ethanol...

It would be week and I would be out of screw to adjust!

It's been cleaned, I spoke to the chap at Splatshop, I ordered parts from them, I spoke to the man from Dellorto, I am trying to cover all base's.

Well, if you cleaned the thing properly, you should know wots init! What did Chris reccommend as UK set?

I figuer if it came as a 30 pilot, it will be weak as runnyshat!

He said it comes with 30 but said most folk put a 33 in as a 30 is more for warmer climes.

I'm following this with some interest as I'm hoping to pick up my new, old stock 2010 290 in a couple of weeks.

So other than greasing the rear end throughout and changing the pilot jet, any other mods worth doing to a new bike before I'm let loose on it?

Peter

Check what pilot jet is in it first before you go ordering

Grease every thread you can get at, vaseline on electrical connections, check air filter for oiling, gearbox oil level. And one other - we had a beginner's event once with participant's bike set up being checked and advice given. I proffered a low pressure gauge to the rider of what looked like a month old Sherco to be met with a look that said I was clearly off my head and the statement "It's brand new".

What's a "proffered" ? Bet it hurt.
