bob
However much you like really depending on the length of your stand pipe. When I had my sherco I shortened the stand pipe so that it would last longer without going onto reserve. The shorter the stand pipe the less in reserve but it is all one tank, i don't think that the tank is seperated either!
nigel dabster
I always run on reserve, read it in a book somewhere years ago, either max king or sammy.

landrover
no colly it's the pipe inside the tank, when you remove the petrol tap the pipe comes out with it ,the fuel filter in the tank, cut about 1/4 inch off then put fuel tap back in. don't tighten the tap bolts to much or you may find it leaks a little
wayne thais
Here is the location of a manual that shows how to modify the "Standpipe". http://www.shercousa.com/pdfs/sherco_04_fu...odification.pdf Wayne
Guest gasgastxtpro
Why would you always run on reserve Dabster???!!!
toofasttim
'Cause then you don't five a section because you ran out of petrol in the main "tank". But it's difficult getting back to the car for more.
nigel dabster
I guess thats the advantage of a Sherco you can see whats left, I don't think its a problem on lap trials anyway is it? Try not tohave too much fuel in would rather fill up each lap than run out or carry too much. In the south with very long muddy sections its possible to run out more easily so better on reserve all the time I guess. Only ever ran out once on a road trial, and that was my own fault through not topping up.
Guest coflet
Put a length of pipe from the tank into a container then drain the tank when the petrol stops put a container with a measure on the side then drain the reserve what comes out will be the capacity of the reserve
